Ronald Ray Reese of Delta died Sept. 7, 2017, at HopeWest Care Center in Grand Junction. He was 90.
A memorial service was held Sept. 11 at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Delta with Pastors Eleazer Rogue, Don Anderson and William Bishop officiating. Inurnment was at Delta City Cemetery.
Mr. Reese was born Jan. 30, 1927, in Grand Valley to Edward and Ruby (Norman) Reese. He spent his childhood in Grand Valley and Santa Ana, Calif. He graduated from high school in Parachute.
On Sept. 1, 1979, he married Lois Hurd in Rocksville, Utah.
Mr. Reese worked as a lead mechanic/welder for Union Carbide. He moved from Riverton, Wyo., to Delta in 1988 and was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, where he was active in the men's Bible study group. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking and traveling.
He is survived by his wife, Lois; three sons, Ronnie Reese of Asheville, N.C., Larry Reese of Parachute and Johnathan Marker of Cedaredge; and three daughters, Connie Reese of Rifle, Melanie Iniquez of Delta and Debbie Guthrie of Asheville, N.C.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Reese; and one sister, Florence Scott.
