Through Our Eyes, an exhibition of new works by members of the Hotchkiss Fine Arts Association, is on display through March 14 at the Blue Sage Center for the Arts in Paonia.
The show includes a variety of mediums. "By the very title, we left it pretty open," said HFAA vice president Jen Sanborn. Works include small- and large-scale oils, landscapes, portraits, abstracts, found objects and three-dimensional works.
Among the works are found object sculptures by Peter Halladay, detailed and colorful ceramics works by Mindy Lyon, pottery by Mary Jursinovic, large-scale oil paintings by Sanborn, as well as oils, water colors and more.
The HFAA was founded in the 1950s by a core group of artists in the area who were focused on promoting artists throughout the valley, and in particular, young artists. Until 2011, they held the annual Black Canyon Art Exhibit featuring works by artists throughout the region.
The opening of Through our Eyes will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5, at the Blue Sage.
