The Hotchkiss Planning Commission is currently preparing a planning survey that will be sent out as part of the upcoming 2017 Hotchkiss Community Master Plan periodic update process.
The survey in the past has contained basic questions regarding where various land uses should be allowed, what was seen as the most positive things about living in Hotchkiss and what were the things in greatest need of improvement.
The Planning Commission is asking for ideas for additional questions to be included in the 2017 survey. If you have such questions please submit them to: firstname.lastname@example.org or Town of Hotchkiss Survey at PO Box 369, Hotchkiss, CO 81419 or the clerk's office at Hotchkiss Town Hall. Or attend a monthly public meeting of the Planning Commission, on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m.
In addition there is currently one open seat on the Hotchkiss Planning Commission. Interested residents of the town should submit a brief letter to the town addressed to Mayor Wendell Koontz, who will make the appointment, via the town's address above.
On Dec. 4 Delta County Commissioners Doug Atchley, Mark Roeber and Don Suppes denied the application of Paonia Holdings, LLC for a change of land use for the property at 41322 Highway 133, with an adjacent residence at 41402 Highway 133 and an ancillary property at 16180 Stevens Gulch Road.
The property is owned by Bowie Resources, LLC, and was formerly used as a coal load-out site.
