William "Bill" Kelley died Dec. 22, 2016, at Willow Tree Care Center in Delta. He was 90.
He was born in Montrose Aug. 11, 1926, to William and Florence (Haifley) Kelley.
On Nov. 30, 1946, he married Frances Weatherford.
Mr. Kelley was a Merchant Marine during World War II. He was injured and medically discharged. He was in the livestock business most of his life and enjoyed being a wool and lamb buyer.
He is survived by his sons, Danny (Kathy) Kelley of Mesa, Ariz., Jeff Kelley of Mesa, Ariz., and W. Kent (Joy) Kelley of Vallejo, Calif.; daughter, Juliann (Steven) Weller of Montrose; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances in 2002; daughter Deborah Kelley; sisters, June Anderson and Vivian Holman Wilna Ross; and brothers, Richard, Donald and Frederick Kelley.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, at Sunset Mesa Funeral Directors. A reception will follow at Signature Events.
Arrangements are being handled by Sunset Mesa Funeral Directors.
At about 9:50 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, officers of the Delta Police Department were dispatched to a robbery reported at Arby's, located at 107 Gunnison River Drive. An extensive search of the area was conducted and the suspect was not located.
The suspect was reported to have walked into Arby's and after a brief conversation with an employee, was able to leave the store with a small amount of cash and coins.
