A mainstay of the Mountain Harvest Festival, the 17th annual Chili Cook-off runs from 5-7 p.m. Friday. For the past nine years the event has been run by the Blue Sage Center for the Arts. This is a highly-competitive event, with the winners determined by the public. Categories and prizes include: Best Green, Best Red, Best Meatless, and Best Exotic, all with a prize of $75; Best In-Town (no prize, the winning restaurant will receive a framed certificate); and the top award, the People's Choice, with a $150 prize.
Tickets can be purchased at the event, and the winners will be announced following the close of the contest.
