Orton Family Foundation executive director David Leckey announces the hiring of Alexis Halbert as senior associate of programs in the foundation's Arvada office.

"As the Orton Family Foundation brings our resident-driven community development method to towns across the country, Alexis will play a key role on our programs team," Leckey said. "Alexis brings invaluable firsthand experience and knowledge of Community Heart & Soul™ from her work as a Heart & Soul™ project coordinator and her skills and enthusiasm align perfectly with the dynamic and mission-driven Orton staff working to build a brighter future for small towns in rural America."

Halbert joined Orton from Paonia, where she was associate publisher at High Country News. She also served as president of the Paonia Chamber of Commerce and was on the board of the Colorado Renewable Energy Society.

Halbert earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan in globalization and natural resource management, and holds a certification in project management from San Francisco State University.
