Longtime Delta resident Alfred Jesser died March 28, 2016. He was 90.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, April 1, at Mountain View Bible Church in Lazear. His son, Pastor James Jesser, will officiate. Interment will follow at Mesa View Cemetery in Delta.
Mr. Jesser was born on Feb. 5, 1926, on the family farm northwest of Turtle Lake, N.D., to Fred and Maggie (Rothman) Jesser. He spent his childhood in the Turtle Lake area.
On Jan. 15, 1950, he married Verna Keck in Bismarck, N.D. They lived in Castle Rock for many years before moving to Delta in 1974.
Mr. Jesser was a heavy equipment operator and farmer. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and horses. He was a member of Mountain View Bible Church in Lazear.
He is survived by his son, James (Janis) Jes-ser of Olathe; his daughter, Joyce (Buck) Krumholt of Delta; his sister, Lorene (Armin) Erdman of McClusky, N.D.; his grandchildren, Joseph and Forrest Imler, Janel and Jacob Webb, and Jonathan and Ryanne Jesser; and five great-grandchildren with one on the way.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Verna, on May 7, 2013; a son, Jonathan Jesser; three brothers; and three sisters.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mountain View Bible Church, P.O. Box 74, Lazear, CO 81420, or to a charity of one's choice.

On Dec. 4 Delta County Commissioners Doug Atchley, Mark Roeber and Don Suppes denied the application of Paonia Holdings, LLC for a change of land use for the property at 41322 Highway 133, with an adjacent residence at 41402 Highway 133 and an ancillary property at 16180 Stevens Gulch Road.
The property is owned by Bowie Resources, LLC, and was formerly used as a coal load-out site.
