Delta resident Alice Thompson died Saturday, June 4, 2016, at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction. She was 75.
Funeral services were held Thursday, June 9, at Taylor Funeral Service Chapel in Delta.
Alice Faye Thompson was born in Grand Junction May 16, 1941, to Cecil Locke and Minerva Morford. She spent her childhood in Grand Junction and graduated from Grand Junction High School in 1959.
She moved to Olathe and married Roger Thompson. They moved to Delta in 2001.
Mrs. Thompson enjoyed the outdoors, baking and spending quality time with her family.
She is survived by four sons, Rodney (Teri) Thompson of Culver, Kan., Russell (Peggy) Thompson, Dennis (Elizabeth) Thompson, all of Montrose, and Gary Thompson of Delta; a daughter, Carla Thompson of Delta; 19 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger; one granddaughter; and one brother.
Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory handled the arrangements.
At about 9:50 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, officers of the Delta Police Department were dispatched to a robbery reported at Arby's, located at 107 Gunnison River Drive. An extensive search of the area was conducted and the suspect was not located.
The suspect was reported to have walked into Arby's and after a brief conversation with an employee, was able to leave the store with a small amount of cash and coins.
