AmeriGas sponsors Telluride Fire Festival

By Press Release

Delta's AmeriGas is sponsoring Telluride's newest festival. Now in its second year, The Telluride Fire Festival, a celebration of performance and sculptural fire arts, is to be held Jan. 14-17. The festival offers spectators a free and interactive experience of fire artistry with spontaneous fire performances, "art cars" and fire-emitting sculptures from some of the most revered fire artists throughout the four-day event in Mountain Village.

Highlights this year include an installation from 15-year-old artist and costume designer, Max Ewy. A lover of all things that blend art and science, Max will create her first Ruben's Tube, or standing wave flame tube, for the festival. Another popular event this year is the sold-out welding workshop from 25-year veteran Richard "Red" Brown, whose custom designed cabinetry can be seen at Smuggler's Brew Pub in Telluride. Additional festival activities include fire spinning workshops, a fire-themed pub crawl through Mountain Village, aerial silk performances, DJ sets and more.

A schedule for the free and ticketed events can be found at www.telluridefirefestival.org. For more information on lodging and visiting Telluride, go to www.visittelluride.com.
