As the United States of America struggles with the senseless killing of peace officers and the hostility toward law enforcement officers in many communities, I want to express my thanks to the citizens of Delta County who have reached out to state their appreciation and their thanks to the Delta County Sheriff's Office and to the police departments within Delta County.
We are extremely blessed to serve in a community that supports our law enforcement officers. You have stated and demonstrated your understanding of the dangers and challenges our peace officers face every day.
I'm thankful for parents who demonstrate their respect and continue to instruct their children to be respectful towards law enforcement. I'm proud to be part of a team of first responders across this county who are dedicated to "Protecting and Serving" while earning and keeping this respect.
The cards, letters, cookies, pizza and doughnuts that were brought in to our office were very much appreciated. The feeling of good will towards our men and women on the front line has truly been appreciated by us all.
God bless you, our Delta County citizens, and the United States of America.
