In light of the two-day weather delay of the 2017 state track meet, the Colorado High School Activities Association held a special graduation ceremony Sunday morning, May 21, for all athletes who missed their graduation ceremonies at home.

From Paonia High School, Brianna Van Vleet, Emily Pieper, Sophia Anderson and Warren Minerich joined about 60 graduating seniors from across the state to march to Pomp and Circumstance at Jefferson County Stadium.

From Cedaredge, Isaac Swoffer, Zack Ketelson, Brendon Klaseen and Xander Purcell also participated in the ceremony.

The athletes then shed their caps and gowns to resume competition at the state track meet.
