Rudolph Andrew "Andy" Garcia died Sept. 8, 2017, at his home in Delta. He was 56.
Rosary will be recited at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Delta on Friday, Sept. 15, at 1:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will follow at 2 p.m. with Father Albeiro Herrera-Ciro presiding. Interment will take place at the Delta City Cemetery.
Mr. Garcia was born in Pagosa Springs to Eleuterio and Tiva (Abeyta) Garcia. He spent one year there and moved to Delta, where he spent the rest of his life.
He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and Delta Elks Lodge #1235.
He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and riding his motorcycle.
Mr. Garcia is survived by one son, Brian Garcia of Delta; his companion, Lora Colby of Delta; four brothers, Tommy (Hazel) Garcia of Montrose and Levi (Vicki) Garcia, Alfred (Theresa) Garcia and Raymond Garcia, all of Delta; two sisters, Lillian (Jay) Stephenson of Grand Junction and Pauline (Ron) Applegate of Montrose; and one grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

On Dec. 4 Delta County Commissioners Doug Atchley, Mark Roeber and Don Suppes denied the application of Paonia Holdings, LLC for a change of land use for the property at 41322 Highway 133, with an adjacent residence at 41402 Highway 133 and an ancillary property at 16180 Stevens Gulch Road.
The property is owned by Bowie Resources, LLC, and was formerly used as a coal load-out site.
