Anna Carpenter

Carpenter died in Duncan, Okla., on Oct. 17, 2016, of heart failure.

She was born Aug. 17, 1935, to Sam and Ruby Pennington in CaƱon City. She was raised in Longmont, Paonia and Somerset. She graduated from Paonia High School in 1953.

After graduation, she moved to Tulsa, Okla., and married Claude Carpenter. He died in 1994.

She is survived by a son, Darren Carpenter of Duncan, Okla.; a daughter, Renee Clark Phelps of Tulsa, Okla.; one grandson, Britton; two granddaughters, Nicole and Autumn; a sister, Louise (Leroy) Borich of Loma; and one brother, John (Karen) Pennington of Jay, Okla.
