Anna "Pauline" Johnston died Sept. 29, 2017, at her home in Cortez. She was 87.
A celebration of life was held Oct. 3 at First United Methodist Church of Cortez. Inurnment will be at Cory Cemetery Saturday, Nov. 18, at 1 p.m.
She was born in Austin July 5, 1930, to William and Luella Weaver.
Mrs. Johnston was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church of Cortez, where she enjoyed singing in the choir and volunteering in Hopes Kitchen and the Thrift Store. She also volunteered at the Cortez Cultural Center and was a longtime member of Beta Sigma Phi. She worked for 18 years as the laboratory secretary at Southwest Memorial Hospital, and she especially enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, James Johnston of Cortez; children, Marcia (Steve) Johnston-Walden of Golden, Donn (Vivianne) Johnston of Westminster, Mary Beth (Kirk) Acott of Cortez, and Ann (Manny) Valdez of Franklin, Texas; grandchildren; stepgrandchildren; sister, Lois Loftus; and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her brother and two sisters.
