The Cedaredge Tree Board is partnering with the fifth grade students from Cedaredge Elementary School to plant two trees at the east side of the skate park in High Country Park on Tuesday, April 26, at 10 a.m. Included in the celebration will be the reading of the proclamation by newly elected mayor Gene Welch. Selected poems and short stories written by the students will be read by their teachers. Colorado state forester Kamie Long will present the town's banner and plaque recognizing Cedaredge for its 22nd consecutive year as a Tree City USA by the Arbor Day Foundation.
Since 2010, the tree board has planted over 40 trees in the town. As always, the public is encouraged to attend this event. For further information contact Jim Leser at firstname.lastname@example.org.
