Delta's second annual "Kickoff to Christmas" takes place Saturday, Nov. 25. This event is sponsored by the Delta Area Chamber of Commerce and First Colorado National Bank.
Special needs transition students from Delta High School have been gaining community work experience by helping city parks staff at Confluence Park.
"They came down and cleaned up the edge of Confluence Lake three separate days and we planted the tree on their fourth visit ... they have been a great help to us and were a lot of fun!" explained parks manager Tony Bohling.

Turnovers dictated last Saturday's Class 3A semifinal football game outcome between Delta's Panthers and the Roosevelt Roughriders in Johnstown. A promising beginning for Delta turned into a 30-23 loss which eliminated the Panthers from this year's 2015 state football championships.
There were plenty of tears to go around for the Paonia Eagles after they lost 27-20 to Buena Vista in the 1A state championship game last Saturday in Buena Vista.
Paonia attempted to become the 20th high school team in Colorado history to win three state titles in a row.
At an academic awards ceremony Nov. 17, Hotchkiss K-8 School recognized Red, Blue and Gold Club members.
