Paonia's boys lost their battle with the Cardinals, 56-44, with the girls prevailing 44-34 in a harder than usual contest for them.
The Panthers were involved with plenty of wrestling action last weekend. The varsity boys were at Valley High School for the Viking Invitational while the junior varsity boys were in Mead. And, Makayla Mills competed in the Chatfield Invitational where she placed third.
Delta High School's boys basketball team continues to have an up and down season after splitting games played at home last week. A 54-51 loss to Coal Ridge was a gut-wrencher while a 69-53 win over Olathe wasn't deeply satisfying either.
Price and Jeanne Hatcher of Cedaredge joined thousands of Catholic Church deacons and their spouses for the Jubilee of Mercy pilgrimage held in Assisi and Rome, Italy. The Jubilee Year of Mercy was proclaimed by Pope Francis and the conference and pilgrimage for deacons took place during May 23 through May 31, 2016.
