Community's help sought to locate Arby's suspect

Through videos and photos posted to Facebook, the Delta Police Department has identified a possible suspect in the Oct. 14 robbery of the local Arby's restaurant.

The Delta Police Department is requesting assistance with locating Michael Wayne Marin, 35.

Two seniors will represent Hotchkiss this Saturday at the Class 2A state cross country meet in Colorado Springs. Sam Rodriguez will make his second state cross country appearance after placing fifth at the 2A Region 4 meet.

Delta wins sixth straight

Delta's volleyball team hasn't lost a match since Oct. 3 when league leader Coal Ridge blanked the Panthers 3-0. Since that time, "We had a heart-to-heart after that game and got some things figured out," noted Delta coach Beth Nelson.

Paonia XC teams to state

For the first time since 2013, Paonia will send both cross country teams to state after strong showings in the Class 2A Region 4 competition last Friday at Confluence Park in Delta.

The Paonia girls placed four runners in the top 10 and scored 23 points to win the division, and the boys scored 38 points to finish third overall.

HHS graduate captains national qualifying flight team

A recent Hotchkiss High School graduate was one of a dozen members of the Colorado Northwestern Community College flight team that recently qualified for national competition.

Will Drbohlav captained the CNCC team that placed second at the annual National Intercollegiate Flying Association (NIFA) Region 1 Intercollegiate Flying Competition held Oct. 7-14 at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs.

This year's Fairview School reunion was bittersweet. The June 24 reunion marked the 26th consecutive year that Fairview School attendees met at Gunnison River Pleasure Park to reminisce and share a meal through the generosity of former student Ray Drysdale, now of Yuma, Ariz.
