On Nov. 19, at approximately 6:30 p.m. officers of the Delta Police Department responded to the Western Convenience Store at 15th and Howard Streets on a report of a robbery. Investigation resulted in the arrest of Zhane Ware and a 16-year-old Delta male, in addition to the recovery of a stolen firearm.
Zhane L.E. Ware, 18, of Delta was arrested and jailed for alleged Aggravated Robbery and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor. A 16 year old male of Delta was arrested and transported to Grand Mesa Youth Services for alleged Aggravated Robbery and Possession of a Weapon by an Underage Person. Ware made his first court appearance Friday afternoon after his arrest, and will be formally charged next week.

The Delta County Reverse 911 System was used to alert the area to the potential threat, asking citizens to remain indoors and to alert nine-one-one of any suspicious activity they may notice. Later the system was used again to notify the community the subjects had been taken into custody. On Tuesday, Sept. 11, the Delta County Board of Commissioners called a special meeting to consider the board's response to the Bureau of Land Management's preliminary Environmental Assessment (EA) concerning the lease parcels proposed for the December BLM sale.
Several people from the North Fork were present to provide input.
