Original two-dimensional and three-dimensional works of art were showcased in the Delta Fine Arts' annual art show. Bill Heddles Recreation Center hosted the show from June 22-24.

This year's judge, Bev Lee of Grand Junction, awarded Best of Show to "Sunset On The Savanna," by Steven Marshall of Grand Junction. People's choice awards were given by art show attendees, with the proceeds going to the artist. Numerous other awards, prizes and merchandise were provided by local businesses and sponsors.

The winners in each category were:

Water media -- David Delo, Delta, "Bend in the Stream," first; Virginia Blackstock, Montrose, "Hide Taxi," second; Mary Bollig, Delta, "Giraffes of a Different Color," third.

Acrylic/oil -- James Dawson, Crawford, "Prince of the Shortgrass," first; Judy Campbell, Austin, "Devil's Claws," second; Larry Dumler, Cedaredge, "Mama Simba Maosai Mara," third.

Pastel -- Hazel Monzingo, Austin, "Grafton Spring," first; Barbara Torke, Cedaredge, "Sheep & Goat: Hello," second; Laurae Fortner Welch, Cedaredge, "Reverie," third.

Photography/digital -- Joe Rosenbaum, Delta, "Busy Hands," first; Diane St. Peter, Delta, "Sit A Spell," second; Rae Ann Simmons, Cedaredge, "Ice Queen's Chariot," third.

Three-dimensional --

This year's show included 19 student art pieces, 20 in the three-dimensional category, 29 in water media, 39 in acrylic/oil, 18 pastels, 21 in photography and 23 in open media, for a total of 169 pieces of art. The number of participating artist totaled 69.

This year's sponsors included Big John's, Delta Ace Hardware, D&M Real Estate and Investments, Tara's, Cedaredge Doctor's Office, Checker Realty, Butch's Café, IOOF Lodge No. 116, ProSpace Interiors, Callaway Packing, Mattes and More, Friends of the North Fork Airport, Paint 'n Place, RJ Helm and Black Canyon Camera Club.
