Kathy Baes, a resident of Paonia, recently joined Region 10's Regional Advisory Council representing Delta County.
Baes has lived and worked in Paonia for 45 years. She worked at the North Fork Medical Clinic and also drove a school bus for the vocational college. After retirement, Baes worked for paonia.com and also as a Mary Kay consultant.
Baes lives with a disability and uses a motorized chair to leave the house. She is dedicated to improving the lives of older and disabled adults across Region 10. Baes says that she joined the Regional Advisory Council to help older people stay in their homes longer and have a better quality of life. Baes hopes that, by joining the Regional Advisory Council, she may help connect older adults with the resources necessary to age in place and prosper in life.
On Tuesday, Sept. 11, the Delta County Board of Commissioners called a special meeting to consider the board's response to the Bureau of Land Management's preliminary Environmental Assessment (EA) concerning the lease parcels proposed for the December BLM sale.
Several people from the North Fork were present to provide input.
