The board of directors of the Ragged Mountain Water Users Association (RMWUA) asks property owners in the North Fork Water Conservancy District to vote "YES" on Ballot Question 4A. Approval of the ballot measure will allow the NFWCD to accept State of Colorado grant monies and manage tax revenues with greater financial flexibility and productivity. These benefits will be realized without any increase in tax assessments. They will be advantageous to agriculture and positively impact the general public, tourism, wildlife habitat, recreation and lifestyle. Many irrigation water entities and citizens within the area have benefited directly and indirectly from financial assistance provided by the NFWCD. Some of those that have directly benefited include the Paonia Reservoir, Lone Cabin Reservoir, Beaver Reservoir, Farmers Ditch, Leroux Creek Water Users, Redlands Mesa Water Users, Ragged Mountain Water Users, Overland Ditch Company and domestic water systems. Indirect benefits to everyone in the North Fork include flood control and enhanced aesthetic beauty.
RMWUA represents 24 member stockholders who use irrigation water within the NFWCD. The board of RMWUA supports the proposed ballot measure for the November election. We believe approval of this ballot measure is a win-win for everyone residing in the area.
