Having your coffee bought by a buddy at the morning coffee klatch is a good deal.
But how about buying morning coffee for the whole town?
A Cedaredge business did just that on Valentine's Day when it bought coffee for everyone who stopped by Stacy's on Main and the Coffee Barn between 8 and 10 a.m.
In addition, the Bank of Colorado bought coffee that day for folks in Delta, Hotchkiss and Paonia as well.
The promotion by the bank was a way of extending a "heartfelt thanks to our community," said Cedaredge Branch Manager Kacy Stillings.
The first 50 customers who stopped in at each location for their morning caffeine dose also received a free insulated coffee travel mug.
The bank bought all of the customers' coffee that morning and a percentage of the total amount was then donated to The Abraham Connection, Stillings explained. Bank officials declined to say how much money was donated to the charity.
Also participating were Doghouse Coffee in Delta, Coal Train in Hotchkiss and Back Country Bistro in Paonia.
