Beulah Smith

Beulah Mae Smith of Riverside, Calif., formerly of Olathe, died July 13, 2017, at her home. She was 91.

Beulah Mae Moberly was born Oct. 16, 1925, in Hale. She attended school in Riverside, Calif., graduating from Poly High School in 1944.

Mrs. Smith was a bookkeeper. She worked for the Community Convalescent Center in Riverside, Calif., from 1969-1979, and then moved to Olathe in 1979 and worked for Colorow Care Center until 1989.

In 1993, she served as the vice president of the Western Colorado Congress and in 1994, she was awarded the outstanding forest steward award for creating a nature habitat on her land in Olathe. She was also a member of the Uncompahgre Valley Chapter of the Daughters of the Revolution. She moved back to Riverside, Calif., in 2001.

She is survived by two daughters, Carol Benskin of Bellingham, Wash., and Susan (Lloyd) Broyles of Riverside, Calif.; three sons, Gerald (Sharon) Smith of Crestline, Calif., Jeffrey (Pauli) Smith of Mead and Ronald (Marcia) Smith of Santa Fe, N.M.; one sister, Hazel Reaksecker of Delta; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service is planned Sept. 2 at 1 p.m. at the Olathe Cemetery.
