Bill Glenn Carson died Dec. 5, 2017, at Delta County Memorial Hospital. He was 88.
He was born July 5, 1929, in Greeley and grew up and attended school in Hooper. Following graduation from Hooper High School, he joined the U.S. Army and served in Korea from 1951-1953.
He was a rancher until he retired.
Mr. Carson was a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge and held every office over his 43 years of membership. He was also a member of the VFW and was the commander for seven years.
Mr. Carson enjoyed hunting, fishing and staying active in his grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's lives.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Carson of Hotchkiss; ex-wife, Cindy Gillam of Plano, Texas; son, Fred (Dawn Standish) Carson of Delta; grandchildren, Candis (Chance) Fischer, Dusty (Dani) Carson and Taylore (James) MacDonald; great-grandchildren, Tucker Carson, and Tate and Lilly Fischer; brothers, Ron Carson of Cottonwood, Ariz., and Don Carson of Newhall, Calif.; and sister-in-law, Helen Carson of California.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Bud Carson.
A memorial service was held Dec. 8 at the Hotchkiss Elks Lodge.
