Photo submitted Susan Ellinger will present two nights of solo piano classics on Nov. 18 and 19 at the Blue Sage Center for the Arts in Paonia.

The Blue Sage Concert Series will present two solo piano concerts on Nov. 18 and 19 featuring concert series artistic director Susan Ellinger. The concerts will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Blue Sage Center for the Arts in Paonia.

Ellinger will perform solo piano works by Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven on Friday evening, Nov. 18. Her concert on Saturday, Nov. 19, will feature works by Schubert, Chopin and Brahms. This is a unique opportunity to hear repertoire for solo piano representing a golden age of keyboard composition by some of its greatest composers.

As artistic director for the Blue Sage Concert Series, Ellinger has been praised for her "refined, poised and singular" vision, and is capturing the attention of audiences throughout North America. Ellinger officially joined the Blue Sage in 2012 to create and direct a comprehensive concert series program. Since its inception, Ellinger has collaborated with visiting artists such as Darrett Adkins (cello), Bill Kalinkos (clarinet), Rachel Priday (violin) and Christina Jennings (flute), who have noted the 'remarkable community', 'incredible quality of life' and 'sheer beauty' of the region where the center is located. The Blue Sage Concert Series runs year-round and consistently performs to sold-out audiences. Ellinger is committed to making music accessible to all and bringing music performance and education to young audiences.

Tickets are $13 for children and $23 for adults and available at the Blue Sage Gallery at 226 Grand Avenue in Paonia, open Tuesday-Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. They are also available by calling 527-7243, or online at bluesage.org.
