Upwards of 600-800 motorcycles will descend upon North Fork area and Paonia Town Park this week for the BMW Motorcycle Club's annual Top O' the Rockies Rally.
This is the 27th year that Paonia has hosted the rally. The event centers around Town Park, where the public is invited to enjoy live music, check out all the great bikes, and meet the riders and members of the rally support team. A beer pavilion hosted by the Paonia Cherry Days committee will open at noon Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Youth groups will sell breakfast in the Ellen (Hansen) Smith Center daily beginning Thursday morning, and vendors will offer a variety of lunch and dinner options.
At 5 p.m. Friday, the Kids' Pasta Project will serve a homemade pasta meal, with proceeds benefiting the family of Mike Hillman.
Throughout the four-day event riders will tour the area, visit wineries, compete in field games, attended presentations on photography, videography, motorcycle insurance and more.
