Bobbie Jo Ellen Hammer died Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at her home in Delta. She was 44.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
Ms. Hammer was born in Rocky Ford Dec. 21, 1971, to Buddy Curtis and Carla Leonard. She spent her childhood in Rocky Ford and graduated from Rocky Ford High School.
She lived in La Junta for four years and Salt Lake City, Utah, for two years before moving to Delta where she lived the past six years.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She wanted to be a race car driver and/or a Dallas Cowboy cheerleader. She enjoyed listening to music, watching movies, reading, and arts and crafts projects, especially making pillow tops.
Ms. Hammer is survived by her children, Ruben Hammer of Crawford and Chantel Hammer; her father, Buddy (Helen) Curtis; a stepbrother, Brian (Michelle) Martin, all of Delta; and four sisters, Thresa Hammer, Anna Kay and Maria Melendez, all of Olympia, Wash., and Chrystal Curtis of Montrose.
She was preceded in death by her mother; and two brothers, James Hammer and Lewis Camacho Jr.
