Brenda Louise Giron died at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction on Jan. 8, 2017. She was 54.
She had been hospitalized the previous week and went to the emergency room for treatment.
She was born in Rifle July 23, 1962, to Marvin Hall and Susan Ramm. She spent much of her childhood on the Western Slope of Colorado.
She married Jerry Giron in Delta in 1979. They had three children, Joshua, Amanda and Hannah, before they separated.
Mrs. Giron worked as a store manager for Blimpie restaurant and in janitorial jobs. She recently worked in the kitchen at the Palisade Assisted Living Center.
When she was young, she was an all-star softball player. Later, she enjoyed collecting and painting rocks, and writing poetry.
A celebration of life will be held at Delta First Baptist Church Saturday, Jan. 28, 11 a.m. with a luncheon to follow. Her favorite color was green, and everyone is invited to wear green to the service.

At about 9:50 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, officers of the Delta Police Department were dispatched to a robbery reported at Arby's, located at 107 Gunnison River Drive. An extensive search of the area was conducted and the suspect was not located.
The suspect was reported to have walked into Arby's and after a brief conversation with an employee, was able to leave the store with a small amount of cash and coins.
