Brendan Nolan

Montrose resident Brendan Gabriel Nolan died Monday, Jan. 4, 2016, at Montrose Memorial Hospital. He was 15.

A rosary was said Thursday, Jan. 7, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Delta. Mass of Christian burial was Friday, Jan. 8, at St. Michael Catholic Church. Interment followed at Delta City Cemetery.

Mr. Nolan was born in Bozeman, Mont., May 3, 2000, to Mark and Trisha (Cunningham) Nolan. He spent his childhood in Montrose where he attended Peak Virtual Academy and took online high school courses at home through Mother of Divine Grace School. He was an intern at Deeply Digital.

He was an altar server at St. Michael Catholic Church. He participated in tap and clogging classes at A Time to Dance from ages 4 to 12 and was a member of Boy Scout Troop #480. He was involved with the Montrose Art Guild, volunteered at Christ's Kitchen and Sharing Ministries, and was a member of the teen advocacy board at Partners. He enjoyed spending time with family, playing Magic the Gathering, Marvel comics, his cat, Moonshadow, and his dog, Elliott.

Mr. Nolan is survived by his mother, Trisha Nolan; his grandmother, Heloise Cunningham; a brother, Michael Nolan, all of Montrose; a half sister, Alexandra Nolan of Centerville, Iowa; his father, Mark Nolan of Florida, his grandparents, Dick and Jean Nolan of Colorado, and an aunt, Kritty Nolan of Colorado.

He was preceded in death by a grandfather, Mark Cunningham.
