Brian Lee Taylor of Paonia died Friday, July 17, 2015. He was 70.
Rosary was recited Tuesday, July 21, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Paonia and was followed by Mass of the Resurrection. Interment was at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Paonia.
Mr. Taylor was born in East Cleveland, Ohio, April 19, 1945, to Elmer and Mildred (Easton) Taylor. He grew up in the greater Cleveland area and graduated from Solon High School in 1963. He attended Miami University in Miami, Ohio, before entering the U.S. Marine Corps. After being honorably discharged, Mr. Taylor worked as a police officer for the City of Highland Heights, Ohio. He was a bass drummer for the Greater Cleveland Peace Officers Memorial Society Pipe Band.
Mr. Taylor was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and the Vietnam Veterans of America. He enjoyed wood and leatherworking, shooting and working outdoors.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Jakki Taylor of Paonia; a daughter, Megan (Jason) Alstatt of Parachute; a sister, Marilyn Haradine of Columbus, Ohio; and a grandson, Aidan Alstatt.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Christine.
