Delta resident Bridget C. Mannon died of complications from congestive heart failure Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2015. She was 83.
She was born in Kings Lynn, England, Jan. 26, 1932, to Victor and Nancy (Stannard) Bardell.
After graduating from school in England, she met Lacy Mannon while he was stationed at RAF Lakenheath, Suffolk, England. They were married on Sept. 6, 1952, and relocated to Virginia. They raised their children in Alexandria, Va.
After her husband died, Mrs. Mannon moved to Delta to be closer to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She enjoyed knitting, practicing yoga, dancing, reading, writing, watching cooking shows and spending time with family and friends.
Mrs. Mannon is survived by two sons, Peter Mannon of Delta and Robert Mannon of Cedaredge; two daughters, Deborah Krum of Las Vegas, Nev., and Dianne Mannon of Delta; one brother, Paul Bardell of Bedfordshire, England; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild on the way; and a large extended family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lacy Mannon; a son, Richard Mannon; and a grandson, Steven Mannon.
At her request, memorials will be held at a later date in Delta and Key West, Fla.

On Dec. 4 Delta County Commissioners Doug Atchley, Mark Roeber and Don Suppes denied the application of Paonia Holdings, LLC for a change of land use for the property at 41322 Highway 133, with an adjacent residence at 41402 Highway 133 and an ancillary property at 16180 Stevens Gulch Road.
The property is owned by Bowie Resources, LLC, and was formerly used as a coal load-out site.
