Bridget Anne Spiker died Oct. 15, 2017, at University Hospital in Aurora. She fought a tough battle with leukemia, and although she was the victor, her body was unable to fight the side effects of the stem cell treatment. She was 43.

Bridget Anne Scott was born in Montrose on July 19, 1974, to Robert Dean Scott and Beulah Martinez. She spent the first two weeks of her life in the NICU at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction. She was raised in Ouray with the exception of a short time in Glendora, Calif. She attended school in Ouray, graduating in 1992.

She spent the majority of her adult life as a 911 emergency dispatcher with a combined total of approximately 20 years between Montrose County Sheriff's Office and the Delta County Sheriff's Office. Her job terminated in November 2016 with her diagnosis of leukemia.

In 1993 Bridget married Raymond Herndon. They had two daughters, Jarika and Jourdan. The marriage later ended in divorce. In 2007, she married Roy Spiker. Their blended family included his three children.

She is survived by her husband, Roy Spiker of Delta; children, Jarika (Victor) Martinez, Jourdan Herndon, Devin Spiker, Aspen Spiker and Mason Spiker; grandchildren, Rielynn Herndon, Alaska Martinez and Jakson Spiker; her mother, Beulah Scott of Ouray; siblings, Michael (Mary Ann) Muransky, Lillian (David) McMurrin, Charles "Speedy" (DeAna) Scott and Pam Scott (Mark Garcia); two recently found half sisters, Phyliss Scott Venable and Christina Scott Jimenez; and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Scott; and one brother, Jack Muransky.

A celebration of life was held at the 4-H Center in Ridgway Oct. 21.

Memorial contributions may be made to Brent's Place, 11980 E. 16th Avenue, Aurora, CO 80010, for families who need a place to stay while doing treatment at University Hospital; or to the Lymphoma and Leukemia Society.
