The first quarter start wasn't fantastic, but the No. 14 Bruins led 10-8 at quarter's end. A pair of three-balls, one from Hailey Henrie and another from Makayla Mckinney, helped achieve the short-lived lead for the Bruins.
Hannah Gilmore's lone bucket in the second stanza was all Kent Denver's defense allowed the Bruins in the period. Cedaredge found itself trailing 18-12 at halftime.
Kent Denver's Julia Doyle scored six points and Gabby Kinney hit a pair of threes staking the Sun Devils to a 12-8 advantage and a 30-20 lead heading to the final eight minutes of the game.
Neither team exhibited much offense in the last quarter, but it was No. 19 Kent Denver (14-10) with three more points in the period to post a 40-27 victory.
The loss ended Cedaredge's season with a 16-7 record and propelled the Sun Devils into the Sweet 16 where they were pitted against No. 3 Lamar (22-2). Lamar went on to eliminate Kent Denver.
