Ryan Hilbig's Cedaredge Bruins' basketball team delivered two wins over the weekend to keep its hold on the second spot in the 3A WSL girls standings. The Bruins rumbled past Roaring Fork 46-27 and edged Moffat County, 43-38, on Saturday.

Roaring Fork (4-5, 9-10) defended its home court in the first quarter (13-12) but lost the first-half battle after the Bruins outscored Roaring Fork 16-7 to take a 28-20 lead at the break.
Cedaredge used a stout defense, and enough offense, helping the Bruins score 18 points in the second half. The Rams scored seven points during the same time span.

A win by Moffat County (7-2, 15-4) on Saturday night would have complicated things considerably. Both teams would have had identical records (8-2).
The contest was close all the way with Cedaredge having the edge in all but one quarter. The Bruins led by four after one quarter and led by six at halftime.
Moffat County shaved a couple of points off the Bruins' lead with a 10-8 third period. The final quarter was a 16-15 advantage for the Bruins resulting in the 43-38 win.
The Bruins hosted (No. 7 Gunnison or No. 10 Aspen) on Tuesday night. That winner moves on to play either No. 3 Moffat County or No. 6 Roaring Fork on Friday at Central High School at 4 p.m. in a semifinal round game. A third-place game is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday morning. The title game is to be played at 1 p.m.
