The Cedaredge High School volleyball team enjoyed a good summer with several camps providing skills enhancement for many new and returning players.
Cedaredge participated in camps in Parachute (Grand Valley) and Alamosa where teams enjoyed a measure of success. The Bruins' junior varsity played well enough to win the Grand Valley camp tournament.
Heather Dunbar, head volleyball coach in Cedaredge, noted the team play in Alamosa was promising.
Numbers are up in Cedaredge and a dozen or so freshmen have given rise to belief there is a promising future in Bruins' Country.
The fact that 20 to 25 athletes were present at open gym most of the summer shows dedication in preparation for the coming season.
Most of last year's squad who have returned for the 2017-18 are expected to be key players for Cedaredge when play begins.
Courtney Freeman will be one of the top players for the Bruins with skills and experience which will make her an impact player for the Bruins in 2017.
