The win over a scrappy Aspen Skiers' baseball team on March 22 brought Cedaredge's season record to 5-2. The Paonia Eagles are 5-0 while the Hotchkiss Bulldogs show a 7-0 record.

Cedaredge will face Paonia for the first time on April 12 and then again on May 3 as the season progresses.

The meeting with Hotchkiss is a doubleheader scheduled for April 23 in Cedaredge.

Against Aspen, Cedaredge took a 2-0 lead after one inning of play and held a 4-3 lead going to the fourth frame.

Aspen failed to score in the fourth while the Bruins plated two more runs for a 6-3 lead.

Another two runs in the fifth, and one in the sixth, left Aspen with a six-run deficit as the Skiers came to bat in the top of the seventh. A four-run surge by the Skiers kept fans on the edge of their seats before the run ended and Cedaredge claimed a 9-7 non-league win.

Tre' Labossiere paced the Bruins' offense with three hits which led to two RBIs, including a pair of doubles. Labossiere also scored twice for the Bruins.

Chase Meyers drove in two runs for the Bruins in a two-hit day, including a double.

Aspen's Jamison Fuentes drove in two runs and Tristan Niskanen had one RBI for the Skiers.

Cedaredge is at Meeker April 2 for doubleheader action with games set for 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

The Bruins are on the road for a matchup against Roaring Fork on April 5 at 4 p.m.
