Cedaredge High School will face a new challenge in 2016 after moving up to Class 3A in wrestling.

Third-year head coach Cutter Garrison's Bruins posted a 7-7 dual record a year ago with Tre' LaBossiere placing fifth at 195 in 2A State Championship competition.

Bob Overturf and Jeremy McCracken will assist Garrison for the 2016-17 wrestling season at Cedaredge High School.

Cedaredge will begin the 2016-17 season with three state qualifiers; Alex McCracken (132), Colton Hoerr (145) and Zach Anderson (160).

Other than the wrestlers already mentioned, Garrison sees freshman Sean Dale (126) and Brandon O'Hern (182) as members of this year's Bruins to keep an eye on as the season progresses.

A list of the remainder of the varsity team (as listed on the Maverick Duals' tournament roster) includes Ryan Imoff (106), Brian Hoerr (113), True Jiron (120), David Schipmann (138), Jared Hulteen (152), Toby Waddell (170), Tory Wilson (220) and Taj Van Der Linde (HWT).

The question of which teams will be tough in the coming season ellicited this response from Garrison. "Where do I start ... the entire western regional! I believe it will be a good season and Cedaredge is going to be competitive anywhere we travel this season."

The Bruins opened their regular season at last weekend's Maverick Duals at CMU. Results from that competition may be found elsewhere in today's paper.

Up next for Cedaredge is the annual Delta Invitational on Dec. 10.
