Paonia (6-0, 11-1), the leader in the 2A/1A WSL, brought its impressive record, and equally impressive talent, to Cedaredge last Friday. The Bruins were not intimidated by either and played the Eagles close in the first two sets before losing by identical scores of 21-25.

The matches' third set began much the same way as the previous two sets had been played with the point spread staying between three and four points through 11 service rotations.

Paonia's Sophia Anderson took service with the Eagles leading 10-7 and built a 13-8 advantage.

Cedaredge could not get the margin of separation reduced and lost a little more ground on Brianna Van Vleet's service which gave the Eagles their biggest lead of 19-12 before losing the serve at 19-13.

The point difference stayed pretty much the same until Anderson took service with Paonia leading 22-16. She finished the set with three straight points making the final score 25-16 to win the match, 3-0.

McKenna Hartigan had a good day for the Eagles with 13 kills, two blocks and 13 digs. Anderson finished the match with six kills, two blocks and nine digs and Emily Pieper had two blocks and 20 assistss. Randi Rapki finished with three aces for the Eagles.
