Cedaredge's girls' basketball team started another winning streak following last week's loss to the Class 2A second-ranked Paonia Eagles. The Bruins demolished Basalt, 61-27, on Tuesday and then rolled over Meeker, 57-30, on Saturday.

Cedaredge, ranked third in Class 2A, wasted little time in determining the direction of momentum. A 20-7 first quarter was the lowest deficit the Longhorns would see for the remainder of the night.
The Bruins extended the lead to 28 points by halftime.
Cedaredge's bench players had plenty of playing time in the second half and the Bruins netted 16 more points in the third period to take a 54-15 lead.
Basalt outscored the Bruins 12-7 in the final period.

The trip to Meeker didn't phase the Bruins' style of play enough to make a difference. Cedaredge took an 18-7 lead after one period and led comfortably, 26-9, at halftime.
Cedaredge kept the pressure on in second-half play, and ran its way to a 31-21 advantage in the final 16 minutes of play. The win gave the Bruins their 13th win of the season against one loss.
The Bruins will host Rangely on Feb. 5 at 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, has Cedaredge traveling to Paonia for a rematch -- and a possible influencing determining factor in a title chase -- that is set to tip off at 2:30 p.m.
Cedaredge is at Hotchkiss on Feb. 9 with a 6 p.m. starting time.
