The Bruins were knocked out of first place in the 1A WSL football standings after losing, 32-12, to Meeker's Cowboys last Friday night in Meeker.
Meeker piled up 522 yards of offense, 438 on the ground and 84 through the air, on its way to an important conference contest. Cedaredge was held to just 164 yards of offense, with 121 coming through the air and 43 on the ground.
Jacob Ostrom was good on 14 of 34 passes and 121 yards. Christian Reynolds caught an Ostrom pass to score one of the Bruins' two touchdowns.
In one of the lowest outputs on the ground this season, the Bruins top rusher, Tyler Cooper, ran for 34 yards on 12 carries.
Meeker's TJ Shelton rushed for 223 on 24 carries and Devon Pontine ran the ball three times for 110 yards to lead the Cowboys' ground game. Shelton rushed for two touchdowns and caught a pass for a third score in the win.
Defensively, Cooper and Reynolds paced the Bruins' defense with 10 tackles apiece. Chase Rule and Casey led Meeker's defense with 12 and nine tackles respectively.
The Bruins hope to get back on track and add a win to their record when they host Lake County on Friday at 7 p.m. The Panthers are 0-3 and 0-7 in 2015.
On Tuesday, Sept. 11, the Delta County Board of Commissioners called a special meeting to consider the board's response to the Bureau of Land Management's preliminary Environmental Assessment (EA) concerning the lease parcels proposed for the December BLM sale.
