Following their weekend scrimmage games on Saturday, the DCI sports department contacted Cedaredge softball coach Matt Hall to get his impressions of his team's efforts.

The Bruins played three times and mixed their varsity and junior varsity players together in games in an effort to give all who made the trip a chance to get some game experience.

"We played Palisade, Gunnison and Rifle. We technically did not keep score, but had more runs than Palisade and Gunnison, but less than Rifle."

Hall believes when the regular season gets underway, his Bruins will play very well against Gunnison and Rifle.

In looking at personnel for the weekend, Hall had praise for his pitchers throughout the day. "I was impressed with my pitcher, Brittany Kendall. She carried the load pitching in all three games (some relief by sophomore Hannah Hatheway in game two). Otherwise, I was actually quite impressed all the way around. I don't see a weak spot defensively, and we had a lot of hits throughout the varsity, though we had two junior varsity girls hit triples."

Hall was asked what he and his team would focus on this week. "I think our focus this week will be on small-ball offensively and situations on defense."
