Cedaredge High School's volleyball team split four matches played last week. All but one was against 3A WSL foes.

The Bruins began the week with a win at home against Gunnison. A convincing 25-15 win in set one made it look as though the visiting Cowboys were out to corral a league win.

Cedaredge had other ideas about who the winner might be as it reversed the score on the Cowboys in a 25-13 win in set two.

The remaining two sets were closely contested with the Bruins earning the victory with wins of 25-20 and 25-23.

Gunnison got 10 kills from Bailey Propernick with Elizabeth Shaw blocking six shots. Jenna Wise finished with 28 assists in the Cowboys' loss.

Cedaredge did not have any team stats available.

Against Delta on Oct. 12, the Bruins managed to tie the match at one set apiece by winning the second set 25-23. Delta had earned a 25-17 win in set one.

Delta controlled the game's outcome by winning the next two sets 25-20 and 25-18.

In Nucla, the Bruins won a four-point victory in set one, 25-21, and then claimed an easy 25-12 win in set two.

The Mustangs were determined in set three and played to a 25-23 win leaving Cedaredge ahead 2-1 going to the fourth set.

Delta ended the match with another 25-12 decision.

Aspen was the Bruins' final match of the week. An exciting second set highlighted this contest with Cedaredge earning a 32-30 decision. The Skiers had won the first set 25-17.

Aspen had the advantage in the final two sets with wins of 25-22 and 25-17.

Coal Ridge is the 3A WSL leader with its 8-0 and 15-0 records. Delta sits in second place at 6-1 and 12-5 with Aspen third (6-2 and 10-4).

Cedaredge is holding at fourth place with records of 4-3 and 11-8.
