Cedaredge High School's volleyball season came to a halt this past weekend following losses to No. 4 University and No. 21 Bishop Machebeuf.

The Bruins lost to University (19-6) by scores of 25-11, 25-4 and 25-13. University was the host school in Region 4 where qualifying action occurred for the three teams mentioned.

Cedaredge's second match, in regional play, was against Bishop Machebeuf. There were no scores available for the match in the Bruins' 3-0 loss against the Buffaloes of the Metropolitan league in Denver. With the loss, Cedaredge finished the year with a 10-15 record and is already looking forward to the next season.

"These kids were super. We came into the season having only two kids with a lot of playing time at the varsity level. I think we surprised a lot of teams with how competitive we really were. I think it is pretty cool this tiny town went to the big city to play schools three times our size. Next year we have a very large, and more experienced senior class. We should have another great season and I am already looking forward to it," quoted Cedaredge coach Heather Dunbar.
