Candidates are circulating their election petitions

Photo by Hank Lohmeyer Cedaredge was looking for people to fill out its slate of candidates for open town board positions last week.

As of the weekend, Orchard City reported eight people running for its five open positions for elective office in the April 5 municipal election, and Cedaredge had reported four people circulating nominating petitions for the five open seats there.

Nominating petitions are still available at the two town halls. Completed petitions have to be turned back in to the town halls by the end of business on Monday, Jan. 25.

Orchard City Town Clerk reported that three people had picked up nominating petitions to run for mayor, and five people had taken out petitions for the four open trustees' seats.

In Cedaredge, town hall reported that two people were circulating petitions as of last Friday for the mayor's position, and two more had taken out petitions for the three open trustee seats.
