Cara Morton, left, and Markee Travis have been a big part of the Cedaredge Public Library story for the past 16 years. Both have served as managers of the library and now, Cara is leaving to pursue other interests and "to open a new chapter in my life."

Cedaredge Library manager Cara Morton was honored on Friday, June 2, with a reception as she moves on from the library after 16 years "to open a new chapter" in her life.

Morton began her career with the Delta County Library District as a library staff worker at Cedaredge in July 2001, the same day that her colleague and good friend, Markee Travis, also began a career with the county library district.

Her library colleagues, friends and library patrons attended her reception as she heard testimonials of her creativity and praise for the fun and effective library environment she helped create.

Morton told the DCI that she "is turning a new page in life and opening a new chapter" that will include a move to Grand Junction and a focus on her art.
