Carl M. Hyatt died Friday, Oct. 7, 2016, at his home in Delta. He was 74.
He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, May 12, 1942, to Carl and Ruth (Fox) Hyatt. He spent his childhood in northeast Ohio where he attended school. After he graduated from high school he served his country.
Mr. Hyatt enjoyed helping people solve their problems and getting together with friends for breakfast.
He is survived by one son, Michael Hyatt of Delta; one daughter, Cherie Pugh of Delta; one sister, Fran Velasco of Texas; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Joan Peterson.

On Dec. 4 Delta County Commissioners Doug Atchley, Mark Roeber and Don Suppes denied the application of Paonia Holdings, LLC for a change of land use for the property at 41322 Highway 133, with an adjacent residence at 41402 Highway 133 and an ancillary property at 16180 Stevens Gulch Road.
The property is owned by Bowie Resources, LLC, and was formerly used as a coal load-out site.
