The Cedaredge Town Board appointed a new town clerk at its June 16 regular meeting.

William Warner was administered his oath of office during the meeting and will assume duties on June 27. Warner was among four finalist applicants who were interviewed for the position, stated the town administrator.

Town hall provided the following information about Warner:

"Currently William Warner is the assistant manager of the Gofer Foods in Cedaredge.

"The town tested five skill sets for potential town clerk candidates prior to interviews. William had an impressive submittal on all five: cover letter, application with resume, paragraph describing Cedaredge, Microsoft Excel test scores and filing.

"Previous to relocating to Cedaredge [he] worked in the gaming industry as supervisor, monitoring financial transactions and creating detailed spreadsheet reports in addition to coordinating personnel."
