Cedaredge matmen solid

By all accounts, Cutter Garrison's Cedaredge Bruins had a successful week of wrestling. The Bruins faced Salida, in Montrose on Friday, and scored a 33-12 win. Cedaredge also took part in the Indian Invitational on Saturday, as did Salida's Spartans.
Paonia had a good tournament on Saturday and was the team winner in the tournament with 179.5 points. The Bruins were a close second with their 172.5 points.

There were six matches that did not produce scores as no wrestlers were on the mat to compete. Weights not having wrestlers included 126, 152, 160, 170, 195 and 220.
Cedaredge got pins at 106 (Ryan Imhoff), 138 (David Schipmann), 182 (Toby Waddell) and 285 (Taj Van der Linde). Zach McMillan recorded a 10-3 decision at 120 bringing Cedaredge's final point production to 33.
Salida had pins at 113, and 132 for its 12-points.
Cedaredge posted points in 10 of 13 weight divisions last Saturday in Montrose.
First-place performances came from Sean Dale at 120, Zach Anderson at 160 and Tre' Labossiere at 195.
Dale's (13-4) title came on a pin against Paonia's Gabe Ferguson (12-4) at 5:22. Anderson (18-4) dispatched Olathe's Caleb Jolley (20-5) with a 9-4 decision and LaBossiere scored an 8-3 win against Aiden Cullen of Palmer Ridge.
Helping build team points for their second place finishes were Brian Hoerr (11-7) at 113 pounds, Alex McCracken (11-5) at 126, Schipmann (13-5) at 138 and Brandon O'Hern (7-5) at 170.
Third place finishes were earned by 220-pounder Van der Linde (10-6) and Jeffery Hieb (3-1) at 285.
Cedaredge hosts Paonia on Jan. 12 at 5 p.m. and hits the road for competition at the Highland tournament Jan. 14.
The Bruins are scheduled to host Montrose Jan. 18 with a start time of 6 p.m.
