The Cedaredge Rotary Club held its annual golf tournament Saturday, June 18, at the Cedaredge Golf Club.
In an effort to create something new, unique and fun, this year's 18-hole event was made into a par three golf course where every hole began from the 150-yard mark.
One of the goals for the Roary Club was to entice more play on the back nine of the Cedaredge course.
This year's tournament was played with nine teams and a new and different format. Reports upon completion of tournament play indicated a favorable reception.
There were many sponsors for tournament play including a car from Hellman Motors for a hole-in-one prize, a Kindle, $500 gift card and a set of irons. Unfortunately, no one made a hole-in-one.
Participants also drew for merchandise from local merchants following conclusion of play.
The list of sponsors also included Bank of Colorado ($1000 Platinum Sponsor), Surface Creek Veterinary Clinic ($500 Gold Sponsor, Aspen Trails ($250 donation) and many $100 sponsors. Cedaredge Golf Club and Cedaredge Rotary Club express their thanks to all the generous sponsors.
This year's top gross winners were Al Brown, William Knox, Kent Chavet and Ken Miller.
Steve Pierce, Jerry Bussell, George Pfahl and Gary Antisdel recorded the tournament's top net score.
The Cedaredge Rotary Club and Cedaredge Golf Club congratulate all players and hope to see them again next year.
